An online
message board for WACAP parents
who have adopted children 2 years of age or older. Discuss parenting topics, tips and techniques, and
get answers to your questions from WACAP staff.
An atmosphere of support and shared education, where parents
can come together and share the joys, challenges and unique
issues involved in adopting children age 3 and older. Meetings
are also open to parents who are waiting for an older child
to be placed with their family. Providing invaluable preparation
for new parents, the group meets once a month in the WACAP
headquarters, 4–6 p.m. For more information, contact Zia

A monthly support group for single adoptive parents (and
soon-to-be adoptive parents) of infants to preschoolers.
Facilitated by WACAP social worker Becky Dion, MSW, LSW.
Meets one Sunday per month, 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the WACAP
headquarters. This is a great opportunity to share ideas
and resources, solve problems and enjoy the company of other
single parents. The first hour is for discussions and presentations
on topics that are helpful for parents. The second hour
is a social hour and potluck dinner for those who wish to
share. Participants are also welcome to bring clothes, toys,
and books to be recycled. During the summer (June through
September) meetings are held in a park for more casual get-togethers.
On-site child care is provided.
